Review by hotel critic
Our family stay at Tongariro Crossing Lodge was nothing short of delightful. From the warm welcome to the personalized service, we immediately felt at home. The hosts, Marina and Louis, truly went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and enjoyment. Our children, aged 9 and 12, were thrilled to find activities tailored just for them, from board games in the cozy lounge to complimentary hot chocolate in the evenings. As an environmental scientist, I appreciated the lodge's commitment to sustainability, evident in their eco-friendly practices and promotion of responsible tourism. The proximity to Fishers Track and Tongariro National Park Whakapapa Visitor Centre made exploring the natural wonders of the area convenient and exciting for our family. The spacious Jerusalem suite accommodated us perfectly, and the free laundry facilities were a lifesaver after a muddy day of hiking. The shared kitchen added a touch of convenience, allowing us to prepare snacks and meals for our little adventurers. We highly recommend it to fellow travelers seeking a welcoming and inclusive accommodation option in this beautiful region.
